Engine failure off Mapplethorpe
The 'A2B Comfort', en route from Immingham to Moerdijk, suffered an engine failure 15 nautical miles east from Mablethorpe in position 53 14 54.0N, 000 42 30.0E, on Sep 5, 2021, at 8.10 a.m. The vessel was adrift in northern direction with 2,5 knots and could not manoeuver. After the defect was rectified, the vessel resumed its voyage to Moerdijk where it berthed on Sep 6 at 1.50 a.m. in the CTT eastern port basin.
Blackout off Great Yarmouth
On Dec 15, 2019, at 11.50 p.m. the 'A2B Comfort', enroute from Moerdijk to Immingham, suffered an engine blackout, which required a gasket replacement on its main engine in position 52 42.1N, 002 09.1E, 16 miles off Great Yarmouth. The repairs were completed on Dec 16 at 12.50 a.m. The vessel berthed in Immingham at 10 a.m. and left the port again at 9 p.m. for the return trip to Moerdijk with an ETA as of Dec 17, 1 p.m.
Container ship disabled off Spurn Point
The "A2B Comfort", having arrived from Moerdijk with a crew of 11 on board, suffered a broken engine cooling hose six nautical miles east of Spurn Point, in position 53 37.788 N, 000 11.620 W, enroute to the Immingham Docks in Grimsby on Dec 11, 2018. The hose was replaced and tugs were on standby if required. At 11.10 p.m. the shp was safely berthed in port.Upload News
